What can be done to increase the number and impact of young entrepreneurs in your country?

Hace unas horas he recibido a través de un amigo un enlace a un concurso para la semana global del entrepreneurship. El concurso consiste en contestar a la siguiente pregunta:

”What can be done to increase the number and impact of young entrepreneurs in your country?”

Al leerlo, me he animado a escribir algo. Lástima que el plazo se cierre mañana, pero si te animas a ver lo que han escrito, en esta dirección esta todo:

Me gustan estos concursos. Y a continuación mi idea:

”What can be done to increase the number and impact of young entrepreneurs in your country?”


What I think is that is a two steps approach: awareness + action. First, we'd have to raise awareness in the society, specially in the young people, the people that are in the best position to change and shape the future. This could be started doing a university tour, though not closed to university students. In these one-day tours, people would have the chance to hear real stories from real entrprenerus who have changed something and created value, followed by workshops and activities. As a prize, at the end of the tour, some students could be selected to participate in a national or international summit, where they could interact with succesful people, discuss their ideas for change, and come up with some actions. That way we are saying:
"you can change the world and you are not alone in this".

That could be a great strategy to raise awareness.

As for action, there should be an ecosystem helping young entrepreneurs to impact. Resources are needed when you have pretty much nothing. The thing is that, not every entrepreneur needs the same, but what everybody needs at some point is personal consultancy in different areas and even sponsorhip. Sometimes the best you can ask for is for advice from people that was in your place sometime ago, and to know how they overcame the tough situations that happen almost daily in the life of entrepreneurs. The experts, after consultancy could have a good idea of the entrepreneur and if they like it, they could give access to contacts and more advanced resources.

From my point of view, that is what I'd like to see in order to increase the number and the impact of the entrepreneurs.
